Fire News Release

(Tucker, Ga., Apr. 28, 2026) – Firefighters responded at 6:41 a.m. to a 911 caller reporting a structure fire at the 400 block of Theresa Court in Tucker.

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Apr. 10, 2026) - At approximately 2:30 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of a commercial structure fire at the GSL Transfer Station, located at 535 Seaboard Industrial Drive NE in Lawrenceville.

(Norcross, Ga., Mar. 4, 2026) – Firefighters responded late Wednesday night to a report of an apartment fire at the Huntington Ridge Apartments, located at 2610 Windsor Woods Lane in Norcross. A concerned resident of the apartment reported heavy smoke coming from the unit next door.

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Feb. 27, 2026) – Firefighters responded at 1:05 p.m. to multiple 911 callers reporting an apartment fire at the Oxford Apartments at 3400 Club Lakes Parkway in Lawrenceville.

Firefighters responded at 3:11 p.m. to a report of a house fire at the intersection of Azalea Springs Drive and Lankford Road in Tucker.

(Duluth, Ga., Jan. 20, 2026) – Firefighters responded late Monday night to a structure fire at the Cortland Duluth Apartments, located at 1335 Herrington Road NW, following multiple reports of smoke entering apartment units.

(Buford, Ga., Jan. 21, 2026) – At 7:28 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a business fire at Dillard's in the Mall of Georgia at 3333 Buford Drive in Buford. 911 callers stated there was a dumpster fire in front of the mall, and the flames were catching the building on fire.  

(Lilburn, Ga., Jan. 11, 2026) – Firefighters responded at 6:23 p.m. to a report of a house fire at the 200 block of Sandra Drive in Lilburn. The 911 caller advised that the house was burning, and people were still inside the home.

(Snellville, Ga., Dec. 30, 2025) – Firefighters responded to a reported commercial fire at 2:27 p.m. at Mavis Tires & Brakes, located at 3887 Centerville Rosebud Road SW.

(Duluth, Ga., Dec. 25, 2025) - Firefighters were called to an apartment fire on Pleasant Hill Road on Thursday afternoon. At 2:14 p.m., fire crews responded to reports about a fire at the MAA Pleasant Hill Apartments, located at 2500 Pleasant Hill Road. The caller reported that something was on fire on a balcony and that people were leaving the building.

(Buford, Ga., Dec. 18, 2025) – Firefighters responded at 3:44 p.m. to multiple 911 callers reporting an apartment fire at the Plantation Ridge Apartments at 1022 Level Creek Road in Buford. The 911 caller advised that there was a fire behind their apartment unit, and the fire was spreading to the second floor. The 911 callers advised dispatch that people were evacuating the apartments.  

(Snellville, Ga., Dec. 14, 2025) – Firefighters responded at 1:04 a.m. to reports of a house fire at the 3000 block of Jonathan Court in Snellville. The 911 caller advised that the neighbor’s house was on fire, and his wife was still inside the home.

Update #1: - On Monday morning, Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management and Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Norcross joined efforts with the Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services to serve the 40 occupants who have been displaced by the apartment fire. Due to a structural collapse during the fire, fire investigators were unable to access the area of origin. Fire investigators said the cause of the fire was undetermined. 

(Buford, Ga., Oct. 25, 2025) – At 7:17 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of a business fire at the 4500 block of Nelson Brogdon Boulevard in Buford. The 911 callers stated they saw smoke and flames and that Benchmark Physical Therapy was on fire. 

(Norcross,GA., October 12, 2025), Firefighters responded at 2:46 p.m. to a neighbor's report of an apartment fire at the Reserve at Gwinnett apartments at 1780 Graves Road NW in Norcross. The 911 caller advised that flames were coming from the top-floor apartment's balcony and that they were trying to evacuate the building.

(Lawrenceville, Ga., September 21, 2025) Firefighters responded at 3:45 a.m. to a house fire on the 900 block of Overlook Path Way SE, Lawrenceville. The 911 caller was a neighbor who reported that the house across the street was on fire and that they did not see anyone outside. Gwinnett County Police arrived on the scene and found a victim in the front yard who had jumped from a second-story window, and they heard screaming coming from a window on the front of the house.

(Norcross, Ga., Sep. 6, 2025) - At 6:00 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a house fire on the 1000 block of Riva Ridge Drive NW in Norcross. The complainant informed 911 call takers that her house was on fire, and her father was trapped inside.

(Buford, Ga., Sep. 4, 2025) - At 6:54 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a house fire on the 3000 block of North Bogan Road NE in Buford. The complainant, a neighbor, informed 911 call takers that the house was located near the intersection of Bogan Road and Thompson Mill. Units from Hall County Fire Rescue were also dispatched to the same incident due to its proximity to the Hall/Gwinnett County line.

(Snellville, Ga., Aug. 31, 2025) At 5:45 p.m., firefighters responded to multiple 911 callers reporting a house fire at the 2200 block of Eastwood Dr. in Snellville. The 911 caller reported that flames were visible from the garage, along with smoke emanating from the crawlspace. The 911 callers advised dispatch that there was one person trapped inside the house.
