Learn MoreUpdate: Gwinnett County Police have charged 28 year old Rickey Taylor of Norcross with the vicious murders of James Sramek and Nicola Sramek. He was linked to the scene of the crime through video surveillance and physical evidence. Through the diligent and continuous efforts of multiple detectives, he was developed as a suspect after participating in a crime spree involving several armed robberies in that area over a 24 to 48 hour timeframe. He was arrested on August 6th for one of those robberies. When police learned that he was in custody, he was interviewed and ultimately charged with the murders. Detectives believe that robbery was the motive for the murders. It is also believed that Taylor knew James Sramek.
Taylor is a heinous criminal and exhibited the darkest side of humanity. It is very disturbing to know that there are people in our society who are capable of exacting such levels of violence against others. The Gwinnett County Police Department stands side by side with the victim’s family in seeing to it that justice is served in a court of law.
