(Wednesday, October 8, 2014 @ approximately 6:39am) The Gwinnett County Police Department Homicide Investigation Unit is continuing the homicide investigation regarding the burned body found in Deshong Park. This park is located at 2859 N. Deshong Road in unincorporated Stone Mountain within Gwinnett County.

At approximately 6:39 am, two Gwinnett County Police Officers were flagged down by a couple walking their dog in Deshong Park.  The couple informed the officers that they found a burned body on the sidewalk near the pavilion within the park.

The Gwinnett County Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Unit, and Gwinnett Medical Examiner responded to scene to begin their investigation.

Details of the homicide are extremely limited at this time. The Homicide Unit and Vice Unit identified the body several hours later. She has been identified as, 26 year old (B/F) Lauren Taylor of Dalton, Georgia.

The Homicide Investigators are working diligently and following up on multiple leads regarding this homicide.
