(Dacula, Georgia) On Monday May 13, at around 9 PM, an officer assigned to the East Precinct took a police report about an incident that occurred at Rabbit Hill Park (400 Rabbit Hill Road, Dacula).
The report mentions three boys who say they saw a man place his cell phone under a stall and record the occupants of the stall next to him. The boys were standing in line waiting to use the bathroom. The suspect is described as a “heavy set white male, black hair with a big bald spot, a black goatee, pink shorts, and a black ‘Mountain View’ baseball t-shirt.” After the officer took the report, he patrolled the park but did not see anyone matching the description.
The case has been assigned to the Special Victims Unit (SVU). A SVU supervisor visited the park yesterday (05/14) afternoon to see if there were any cameras in the general vicinity that could be of use to this case. No useful cameras were seen.
The lead detective made contact with the parents of the three witnesses on Tuesday evening. Based on the interviews, we believe that the occupants of the adjacent stall were a father and son. The son may play on a youth baseball team that played at the park on the evening of May 13.
We are eager to identify the father and son as well as the suspect in this case.
The safety of those who visit Gwinnett County Parks are of high interest to the Gwinnett County Police Department. Officers assigned to the East Precinct have increased their patrols to Rabbit Hill Park, and the lead detective is working hard to investigate this incident.
