Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson has been elected to serve on the 2026–2027 Board of Managers for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia.
Hendrickson will serve as one of three National Association of Counties Board Representatives for the Peach State, representing all 159 Georgia counties that are members of ACCG.
“I’m honored to serve on the ACCG Board of Managers and represent Georgia’s counties on the national stage,” said Hendrickson. “Gwinnett is one of the most dynamic counties in the country, and I look forward to bringing our perspective to the table while working alongside leaders across the state to advance policies that strengthen communities and expand opportunity for everyone.”
She joins Henry County Chairwoman Carlotta Harrell and Monroe County Commissioner Lamarcus Davis as Georgia’s NACo representatives. ACCG lists Hendrickson as Seat 1 representing Gwinnett County on its Board of Managers.
"We are excited to welcome our newly installed Board of Managers, a group of leaders, passionate about public service, chosen by their peers to guide the association," said Executive Director Dave Wills. "Their dedication and expertise will be essential as we collaborate to enhance the well-being of Georgia's counties, which have one purpose, to provide essential and desirable services to constituents.”
Hendrickson was elected chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in 2020 and reelected in 2024, becoming the first African American to serve in the role in Georgia’s second-most populous and most diverse county. As chairwoman, she leads the Board in setting policy direction for Gwinnett County Government and oversees the adoption of the County’s $2.58 billion budget serving more than 1 million residents.
Before taking office, Hendrickson served as the founding director of Gwinnett County’s Community Outreach program, where she helped expand civic engagement and connect diverse residents to opportunities for involvement in local government.
As a NACo Representative, Hendrickson will help advocate for Georgia counties on federal policy issues and legislation while working with fellow ACCG board members to guide the association’s priorities over the next year.
