(Lawrenceville, Georgia)  On Sunday, December 20, shortly after 10:30pm, officers assigned to the South Precinct were dispatched to a medical call at 130 Galesburg Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville.  When the officers arrived at the home, they found medical personnel treating a male victim just inside the foyer of the home.  There was a large amount of blood on the floor.

The victim, Jeffrey Williams (W/M, age 50), was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville where he died of his injuries.   

The officers spoke with other family members inside the home.  The son of the victim said that his father chased him out of the upstairs bedroom, tripped on a chair on the landing, and fell through the banister of the staircase.  The victim landed in the foyer of the home.    

Investigators assigned to the Homicide Unit were called in to investigate the death, per GCPD protocol. 

An autopsy on the victim’s body was completed on Monday, December 21.  The results of the autopsy are still pending.
