Learn MoreGCPD Cold Case Unit investigators are seeking assistance in the 2008 homicide of Eva “Kay” Wenal. On May 1, 2008, Kay Wenal was at her home on Sugar Lake Court, in unincorporated Lawrenceville. She was murdered in her home by an unknown person and discovered by her husband, Harold “Hal” Wenal. Hal Wenal was ruled out as a suspect before his own death (of natural causes) in 2010. Kay’s murder remains unsolved.
Earlier this year, detectives revealed some previously undisclosed evidence to the public: a note claiming responsibility for Kay’s murder cut from magazine letters, a sketch of the suspect, and a few old family photos of a “person of interest” found after Hal’s death. It is our hope that this new information will lead to a break in the case.
America’s Most Wanted is helping GCPD with this case by airing Kay’s story this Friday, August 24 at 9:00 PM EST on the Lifetime Network. This is a special episode of America’s Most Wanted focusing on “The Bold, The Bad and The Brazen.”
