Learn More(Lawrenceville, Ga., May 8, 2023) – In 2021, Gwinnett County Commissioners adopted a resolution to establish the Gwinnett County Police Citizens Advisory Board. The mission of the board is to develop and maintain a partnership with the police department for the purpose of engaging in problem-solving processes that support the community and the department’s desire to enhance public safety.
The board is made up of residents of Gwinnett County who are each selected by a commissioner or professional entity within the county. The people who were chosen for the board in 2023 and who selected them are as follows:

Marc Cohen - Chairman Marc Cohen was selected by the Gwinnett Municipal Association. Marc is a marketing executive and public speaker with experience collaborating with companies from start-ups to Fortune 500. He is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Gwinnett. He is currently serving his fifth elected term as a member of the Sugar Hill City Council and acts as the Public Safety liaison and member of the Arts Commission. |

Pejman Mahdavi - Vice Chairman Pejman Mahdavi was selected by the View Point Health Network. He works for View Point Health developing community-based mental health treatment programs. He has previously worked as a child abuse investigator for LA County and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. |

Cheryl Murdock - Secretary Chervl Murdock was selected for an appointment by Gwinnett 101. She is a retired 20-year veteran of the NYPD and has lived life of community service. She is a Citizen's Police Academy Alumna and has worked as an election official. She is a graduate of Hunter College in New York. |

Marqus Cole Marqus Cole was selected by District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden. He owns and operates The Cole Law Office and serves as a community Pastor at Grace Snellville. He is also the National Director of Church and Community Engagement at the Evangelical Environmental Network. He served as Chair of the Board in 2022. |

Cathy Nichols Cathy Nichols was selected by the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Ms. Nichols served as the President & Chief Officer of Mobile Communications of Gwinnett, Inc for 22 years. She then became a partner of Vanguard Cleaning Systems of Atlanta and serves with various youth organizations within Gwinnett County. |

Anthony Williams Anthony Williams was selected by District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins. Dr. Willams served as a Visual Arts Instructor, fourth-grade teacher, and elementary school assistant principal. He is a solution-oriented individual active in volunteerism. He has served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve and deacon at Friendship Baptist Church in Duluth. |

Chevonne Vincent Chevy Vincent was selected by Gwinnett Technical College. Chevy serves as a Student Ambassador and President of GTC's Student Government Association. She is a recent graduate from GTC with her Associate Degree of Criminal Justice and is eager to complete her Bachelor's program in 2023 at Georgia Gwinnett College. Passionate about coaching youth soccer in her free time, Chevy is also excited about being a part of GPCAB |

David Post David Post was selected by District 4 Commissioner Matthew Holtkamp. He has been a deputy sheriff, city policeman, and a manager responsible for the internal security of large precious metals facilities and performed security and management consultation for national companies. David has done security and consulting work for over 50 years. |

Andre Johnson Andre Johnson was selected by District 2 Commissioner Ben Ku. He graduated from Morehouse College and Emory School of Law. Andre is an attorney who has been a public defender, assistant district attorney, and he’s worked in private practice. Andre has also worked as a mitigation specialist for the Southern Center for Human Rights and legislative liaison for the American Civil Liberties Union. |

Renee Liverpool Renee Liverpool was selected by Chairwoman Nicole Hendrickson. For nearly two decades, Renee has worked as a coach, HR strategist, trainer/facilitator, and people leader. Renee is a Wellness Coach with Weight Watchers as well as the owner of Coffee Group, LLC, an organization dedicated to a desire for community amongst other mothers raising children of color and diverse backgrounds. |

Melaney LaGrone Melaney LaGrone was selected by the Gwinnett Criminal Defense Bar Section. She is the owner and managing attorney of a criminal defense and immigration firm in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She is a former police officer and has a BS in Criminal Justice Studies from the University of Detroit, an MS in administration from Central Michigan University, and a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. |
