Update #1, 10/09/2018:
The victim has been identified as Willian A. Tunchez (age 21, Lawrenceville).
At around noon on Monday, October 8, the father of the victim called to report his son as a missing person. He told the tele-serve officer that he had not seen his son since the previous day (October 7) at around 9pm. After dropping his sibling off at the home, he told his father that he was going to visit a family member (unknown location).
After getting his clothing description, the tele-serve officer listed Willian A. Tunchez as a missing person on GCIC.
The other family member does not live in the neighborhood of the crime scene. Detectives are still trying to determine what the relation is between Willian and the place where his body was found.
Willian’s truck was found parked along the curb a few houses away from the crime scene. The vehicle was transported to GCPD Headquarters for processing.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Detectives are still accepting tips in this case. Please call GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
