UPDATE #2: Homicide detectives received information on this murder that identified Stanley Elliot (70 year old male from Lawrenceville) as the suspect in this case.  Investigators met with Elliot on February 26^th and arrested him at his home for Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During a Felony.  The motive for this murder is still unknown.  Elliot is being held at the Gwinnett County Jail.

UPDATE #1: Investigators have identified the victim of this homicide as Anthony Collins (44 year old male from Lawrenceville).  The motive for this incident is unclear.  While canvassing the area for information, detectives were able to obtain video of a person of interest.  The male has a skinny build and is approximately 5’10.  He is known to walk around the area where the homicide occurred carrying a pole, stick, or other object.  If anyone recognizes this male, they are encouraged to call 911 or the Gwinnett County Police Non-Emergency Phone Line to report any relevant information.

(Lawrenceville, Ga., February 25, 2021) – Gwinnett Police responded to a trouble unknown call of a man lying in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Riverside Pkwy.  When officers arrived, they found a man deceased laying outside a car.  The Medical Examiner arrived and during the investigation found a gunshot wound on the victim.  The Homicide Unit responded to investigative the incident and Crime Scene Unit is processing the scene.  The victim’s information will not be been released until next of kin has been notified.
