Update #1: (Lawrenceville, Georgia) Gwinnett County Police and fugitive investigators are actively searching for thirty one year old Winston Sylvester for the murder of Vernie Burroughs. Homicide detectives have obtained arrest warrants for aggravated assault and felony murder. Sylvester has ties to the Atlanta area and should be considered armed and dangerous. (Cpl. (February 21, 2016, Lawrenceville, Georgia) Officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a person shot call located at 1100 Indian Trail Lilburn Road building 13 (Indian Trail Apartment Homes) in unincorporated Lilburn at 923pm.  The victim had been shot and was deceased on scene. The victim has been identified as Mr. Vernie Burroughs (43 years old).  Gwinnett County Police Homicide Detectives are on scene and are handling the investigation.  This is in the preliminary stages of the investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 770-513-5300.
