The incident occurred on Hamilton Mill Parkway, near its intersection with Town Manor Court. This is a portion of roadway within an unincorporated Gwinnett County associated with Dacula.
Preliminary investigation has indicated that a 1992 Honda Civic truck was traveling Southbound upon Hamilton Mill Parkway when the driver lost control over the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway, striking a tree situated on a raised median between the north and south lanes of the parkway. At the time of this accident, the vehicle was occupied by 4 individuals. The second ejected victim was transported to Gwinnett medical Center in Lawrenceville with critical injuries. Investigators continue to evaluate the physical evidence recovered from the scene of this crash to determine the exact cause and nature of the driver's loss of control over the vehicle and to determine if seatbelts were being used by those ejected from the vehicle.
