(Lawrenceville, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on Wednesday, July 24.  The call came into the 911 Center at around 7:30 PM at the intersection of Duluth Highway (State Route 120) at Lakes Parkway in unincorporated Lawrenceville. 

Samantha Dickson (age 33, Lawrenceville) was traveling westbound on Duluth Highway in a black Kia Sportage SUV.  Devaughn Jones (age 24, Lawrenceville) was traveling eastbound on Duluth Highway on a red motorcycle.

Samantha told the officers that she was turning left onto Lakes Parkway when she collided with the motorcycle.  After impact, Devaughn sustained life threatening injuries and died at the scene.  According to the initial report, Devaughn was wearing a helmet.

Alcohol impairment does not appear to be a factor in this collision.  The case is still under investigation, and charges could come at a later time.
