Learn More(Snellville, Georgia) A Snellville man died after crashing his motorcycle on Parkwood Road early this morning. At around 12:30 AM, officers assigned to the South Precinct were dispatched to an accident in front of 2882 Parkwood Road in unincorporated Snellville. According to the caller, a motorcycle driver was lying unconscious in the driveway of the home.
The Gwinnett County Fire Department confirmed that the driver was deceased, and the Accident Investigation Unit was dispatched. Based on the preliminary investigation, George Butler (age 44, Snellville) was driving southbound on Parkwood Road towards Centerville Highway. He lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve. Butler was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest in a nearby driveway.
George Butler’s helmet was not properly secured and had come off during the collision. Rider inexperience and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors.
