Learn More(Tuesday October 5, 2010 @ approximately 7:32 am) Gwinnett County Police Homicide Unit is investigating an apparent Murder-Suicide at 2033 Carriage Way in an unincorporated area of Lawrenceville in Gwinnett County.
The Gwinnett County Police Department received a call in reference to an unknown medical problem at 2033 Carriage Way. The caller reported to police that the neighbors 12 year old son came to their house stating that there was something wrong with his father and he might be dead. Uniformed officers responded to the house and discovered two deceased adults inside the home with obvious signs of trauma.
The preliminary investigation indicates that this is an apparent murder-suicide involving a married couple that was in the process of getting divorced. It was reported that the couple was arguing into the early morning hours on this date. The couple, a 57 year old male and 50 year old female was discovered dead by their 12 year old son at approximately 7:30 this morning. The couple had two children, a 12 year old son and a 9 year old daughter. The children did not suffer any physical injury from this incident. The children were released to the custody of a family member. Investigators are in the process of finalizing the notification of next of kin. The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner took jurisdiction of the bodies and transported them to their facility where they will determine the cause of death for both.
