Learn MoreWHAT: Gwinnett County will celebrate the launch of the Georgia Mobility and Access Planner. Providing real-time navigation and turn-by-turn directions, the mobile app offers personalized trip planning to support travelers with disabilities, older adults and people with limited English proficiency. This event will include a ribbon cutting, field demonstrations and a community event with local organizations.
Supported through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s ITS4US Deployment Program, the Georgia Department of Transportation, Atlanta Regional Commission, Gwinnett County and the Statewide Independent Living Council of Georgia were awarded $11.4 million to develop and deploy the G-MAP app. The app is now available in Gwinnett County, including two designated County facilities and on Ride Gwinnett local bus routes.
WHO: Gwinnett County Transportation Director Edgardo Aponte will emcee. Remarks will be shared by Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, U.S. Department of Transportation Georgia Division Administrator Sabrina David, Georgia Department of Transportation Chief Engineer Meg Pirkle, Atlanta Regional Commission Executive Director and CEO Anna Roach and Statewide Independent Living Council Project Champion Jordan Hall.
