Learn MoreOn February 9, 2011, an armed robbery occurred at Barron's Fine Jewelry (1850 Scenic Highway) in Snellville, GA. Two men entered the store and stole about $20,000 worth of jewelry at gunpoint, while a third male acted as a lookout. The suspects fled the scene in a white Jeep Liberty. The vehicle was recovered nearby by Snellville Police. It was stolen out of Atlanta.
On March 22, 2011, an armed robbery occurred at Tara Fine Jewelry (1829 Buford Highway) in Buford, GA. At about 11:38 AM, four men entered the store with handguns and hammers. They ordered everyone in the store to get on the ground. One of the suspects struck a customer on the head with a hammer, knocking him to the ground. The suspects smashed several display cases and made off with nearly $1,000,000 worth of jewelry and watches. They fled the scene in a black Ford Excursion. The Excursion was located abandoned in a nearby apartment complex. This vehicle also returned stolen out of Atlanta.
Detectives have been working these cases since the robberies occurred. They eliminated several possible suspects before developing probable cause to charge the following suspects:
Simone Simon (B/M, 33 years old)
Terrence Talley (B/M, 28 years old)
Nicholas Moss (B/M, 31 years old)
Each of these three suspects has been charged with armed robbery for each of these cases. More charges may follow, pending the outcome of the investigation. Talley is currently in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Simon and Moss have not been located and are still at large. Photos of all three are attached. The success of the case so far has been due to the cooperation between the GCPD Robbery Unit, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, the Snellville Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). We have also received assistance from the Fulton County Sherriff's Office, U.S. Marshalls, and several other agencies in the course of this investigation.
A few watches and pieces of jewelry have been recovered, but the bulk of the stolen items are still unaccounted for. The victim of the attack at Tara Fine Jewelry made a full recovery. The investigation into these cases is ongoing.
