Update 6:00pm: The victim has been identified as Allen Craig Willard Jr. (25 years old) of Suwanee, Ga.  The suspect is Jerome Daniel Colvin (34 years old) of Auburn, Ga.  He is charged with Felony Murder, Malice Murder, and Aggravated Assault.  The two parties involved worked together in the Buford area

Original 4:24pm (Buford, Georgia) Gwinnett Police received a call at 12:10pm reporting an active shooter happening at the intersection of South Lee Street and West Main Street in downtown Buford.  Officers quickly responded and located a deceased male in the roadway.  It was also determined that it was not an active shooter but a shooting due to a dispute between known parties.  A description of the suspect was obtained and given to responding units.  The suspect was apprehended moments later as he was trying to flee the area on foot.

Detectives are working to determine what led to the dispute and subsequent shooting.  No other parties were injured during the altercation.  The identification of the deceased is being withheld pending the next of kin notification.  The suspect is a 34 year old male.  His identification is being withheld at this time pending the investigation.
