(Buford, Georgia)  A GCPD detective is investigating a recent theft and needs the public’s help identifying the suspect. On Wednesday, May 8, a woman was dining at the Bonefish Grill restaurant located at 3420 Buford Drive in Buford.  The victim had her purse hanging from the back of her chair.  A suspect who was seated behind her took the wallet from inside the purse.   

Following the theft, the suspect purchased multiple gift cards in excess of $1,500 at the self-checkout register at a local grocery store using the victim’s card.

The detective obtained surveillance images of the suspect at the Kroger (3300 Hamilton Mill Road in Buford).  He is asking the general public to view the images and to call in with tips. 

The suspect is a Hispanic female wearing a white linen shirt (tied in front) and blue pants.
