The Empower Gwinnett Government Internship Program, formerly Career Starts Here, is Gwinnett County Government’s summer internship program for youth ages 15 to 21. The four-week paid internship program offers Gwinnett’s young people an opportunity to gain valuable, real-world experience. Interns are provided the opportunity to explore their passions, get hands-on experience, and develop leadership skills through workshops and on-the-job training.

Empower Gwinnett applications now available
The 2026 Empower Gwinnett application period is Monday, February 9 to Monday, March 16. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection into the program. Selected candidates will be notified in early May.
