Residents interested in playing a role in the 2020 Census and supporting their community are invited to apply for a position as a field representative for the U.S. Census Bureau.

Currently, positions pay from $14.95 to $22.92 per hour, in addition to $0.57 per mile driven while on duty.

To be eligible for a 2020 Census job, you must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, and you must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, able to work days, evening, and weekends, and able to travel overnight for work assignments and training.

Field representative duties include interviewing respondents to collect census data; explaining the purpose of the survey; asking questions as worded on the questionnaire and filling in responses using a laptop or survey forms; and maintaining personal payroll records.
