Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson will take center court this Sunday, January 11, when she delivers the ceremonial First Serve at the Atlanta Vibe’s home match at Gas South Arena.

The First Serve will mark more than the start of the match. During the event, Chairwoman Hendrickson will present a proclamation from the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners honoring the Atlanta Vibe for their growing impact on the community and for embracing the County’s One Gwinnett theme during the 2025 season.

“The Atlanta Vibe represents what One Gwinnett looks like in action,” Hendrickson said. “They inspire our community, especially our young people, and demonstrate the power of teamwork, leadership, and shared purpose both on and off the court.”

The proclamation, presented during a recent Board of Commissioners meeting, recognizes the Atlanta Vibe for bringing residents together, elevating professional women’s sports in Gwinnett County, and reflecting the values outlined in the Chairwoman’s 2025 State of the County Address — unity, collaboration, and moving forward as one.

Atlanta Vibe Owner Colleen Craig said the recognition highlights the strong connection between the team and the community it represents.

“We are proud to call Gwinnett home and for our team to be part of One Gwinnett,” Craig said. “The support from this community and Chairwoman Hendrickson gives us an unrivaled home court advantage.”

As Gwinnett’s professional women’s volleyball team, the Atlanta Vibe competes at Gas South Arena and continues to draw fans from across the county and region. In a short time, the team has built a passionate following while serving as a visible example of opportunity and excellence in women’s sports.

Chairwoman Hendrickson also encouraged residents to attend the Vibe’s season kick-off game this Thursday, January 8, and to come out Sunday to experience the excitement in person.
