As the summer season brings a surge in animal shelter intakes, Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement needs your help.
Whether you can open your heart and home temporarily or for a lifetime, every act of fostering or adoption gives a shelter pet a second chance. Helping just one animal gives it the relief, care, and chance it deserves — and it frees up space for another pet in need.
Fostering or adopting a shelter pet can also enhance your life. When you're feeling stressed, burned out, or simply looking for more joy or purpose in your day, caring for an animal can bring unexpected rewards that support emotional well-being.
Meet these lovable pups who have been waiting patiently for their second chance. Now, they’re all set for a fresh start through adoption or a loving foster home. Don’t let them wait any longer:
- Dublin (ID: 108026) – 133+ days
- Forney (ID: 108766) – 85+ days
- Cannoli (ID: 108919) – 75+ days
- Leo (ID: 108950) – 74+ days
- Draco (ID: 109001) – 72+ days
- Champ (ID: 89825) – 71+ days
- Dolly (ID: 110276) – 60+ days
- Cheyanne (ID: 110062) – 30+ days
- Andy (ID: 110586)
All foster homes will receive veterinary resources and supplies, including food and leashes at no cost. For those ready to adopt a shelter pet, adoption fees are waived, and all pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated for free before they are adopted.
Gwinnett County employees who foster an animal for at least 30 days or until adoption through October are also eligible for Sharecare points.
