Posted: August 5, 2025
Gwinnett County residents are invited to go behind the scenes of the criminal justice process through the District Attorney’s Citizens Academy—a free, nine-week program designed to provide an in-depth look at the work of the District Attorney’s Office.
Participants will explore how cases are investigated, charged, and prosecuted, with weekly sessions led by prosecutors, investigators, and other staff who serve on the front lines of justice in Gwinnett County. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the Gwinnett County Corrections facility and gain firsthand insight into how the justice system operates beyond the courtroom.
The program includes presentations, interactive demonstrations, and discussions centered around real-world case scenarios. The Citizens Academy fosters transparency, encourages civic engagement, and promotes a deeper understanding of the DA’s role in keeping the community safe.
Applications open Monday, August 4 and close at 11:59pm on Friday, August 22. All applicants must complete and submit an application to be considered.
