Gwinnett County has earned its second Southeast Emmy® Award for Upfront Gwinnett: The Hidden Homeless, a powerful public affairs series that shines a light on the invisible crisis of homelessness in metro Atlanta.

Written and produced by Gwinnett spokeswoman and strategist Deborah Tuff, the three-part docuseries offers a raw and honest look at families living in extended-stay motels, students without stable housing, and the community leaders working to support them. The series is part of the County’s Upfront Gwinnett platform, which explores local stories that impact everyday lives.

“This series wasn’t just about highlighting a problem, it was about humanizing it,” said Tuff. “We set out to tell the truth with care, and this recognition affirms how powerful local storytelling can be.”

The series was shot and edited by Brandon Davis, whose powerful visuals helped bring urgency and compassion to the screen.

The win marks Gwinnett County’s second Southeast Emmy® Award in as many years, following last year’s honor for Upfront Gwinnett: Fighting Fentanyl. Video producer Jason Tyre was also nominated two years in a row, highlighting the growing impact of the Communications Department’s in-house media and video production team.
