Learning about the American Revolution, achieving New Year’s resolutions, and learning about Viking myths and legends are just a few things to do in Gwinnett this weekend!
Check out these events taking place Friday, January 9 through Sunday, January 11.
Join us for American Revolution Homeschool Day
In honor of our country turning 250, homeschool families are invited to learn about the American Revolution on Friday, January 9 at the Lawrenceville Female Seminary. From 10:00am to noon, learn about the daily life of tradespeople, build simple machines, practice 18th century dances, and engage in a lively debate around the act of declaring independence! This event costs $2.50 for Gwinnett residents. Children 3 and under are free.
This program aligns with a 4th grade curriculum, but all grade levels are welcome. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Registration is strongly encouraged.

Celebrate the new year with a new you
Residents ages 50 and up can take on their New Year's resolutions on Saturday, January 10 from 9:00am to 11:30am at Bethesda Park Senior Center! Try our Simply Fit classes at 9:00am or 10:00am and enjoy some light refreshments.
This event is free for Gwinnett residents.

Learn how to make Viking wood art
Join us for a lesson in the Viking art of wood burning to commemorate Eldbjörg Day on Sunday, January 11 at the Bethesda Park Adult Softball Complex. From 1:00pm to 4:00pm, residents ages 15 and up can learn about Viking myths and legends while designing their own unique artwork with wood burning tools. All equipment and light refreshments will be provided.
This event costs $16 for Gwinnett residents.
