Solid Waste Management

Due to consecutive weekend winter storm events and delayed starts in trash and recycling services on January 27, any trash or recycling not collected last week for residents of unincorporated Gwinnett will be collected Monday, February 2. Any customers whose trash and recycling were not serviced on Friday, January 30 should place their containers at the curb on Monday, February 2 for collection.

All residents should place their containers at the curb on their normal day of service for the week of February 2 and they will be collected as haulers complete any delayed services. All yard debris and bulk collections will be suspended for the week of February 2.

Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act

The 1990 Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act requires local governments to complete and periodically update a solid waste management plan. In 1991, Gwinnett County and many of the municipalities within the County developed a state-approved solid waste management plan. A 2007 amendment addresses a 2005 – 2020 planning period.
