(Lawrenceville, Ga., Oct. 10, 2025) – Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit is seeking assistance in a pedestrian hit and run fatality.

On Oct. 6, a pedestrian was struck in the roadway on Athens Highway between Cooper Road and Rosebud Road around 10:50pm.  The pedestrian was deceased at the scene and AIU responded to investigate.  Investigators located the vehicle that struck the pedestrian and charged the driver with fleeing the scene of a fatal collision.  Investigators believe that after being fatally struck, the pedestrian was lying in the road for several minutes and was potentially hit by multiple vehicles after the initial collision.

Investigators are asking for anyone to come forward who may have been in the area between 10:50pm and 11:05 pm that night.  They are encouraging any involved parties to contact investigators so a complete comprehensive report of the accident can be completed.
