The Operations Division coordinates, staffs, and commands the department’s response to more than 107,000 fire and medical calls each year from 31 strategically located fire stations. The division also oversees the department’s specialty response teams.

In addition, the Operations Division manages the Continuous Improvement Section. This section collects and analyzes data from the initial dispatch through patient transport and transfer to hospital staff. The information gathered helps the department continually evaluate and improve service delivery for the citizens of Gwinnett County.

All emergency vehicles—including ladder trucks, fire engines, medical response units, and specialty apparatus—are staffed with personnel trained to respond to both fire and medical emergencies. These units are staffed with paramedics and EMTs to ensure the highest level of service.
