*UPDATE: Double Homicide Investigation: Arrest Made
Update #3: Gwinnett County Police have arrested seventeen year old Quintarious Walker from Tucker for the murder of Jaquille Thomas and Angelique Bowman. Walker provided a statement to police that helped to solidify the investigation. The specifics of why the murders happened are still being investigated. There are no additional suspects being sought in this investigation. Walker has been booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center for the following charges:
- One count Malice Murder
- Two counts Felony Murder and
- Two counts Aggravated Assault.
Update #2: Gwinnett County Police are releasing video surveillance captured from a resident’s surveillance system on Wandering Way. The video depicts the suspect and Jaquille Thomas walking down Wandering Way in the direction of where the victim was ultimately found deceased. In the video at 10:49 p.m. you can see the two males walking. The first male has a distinct walk and is carrying a handgun in his left hand. The second male, Jaquille Thomas, was several steps behind the suspect. He did not appear to be under duress. At 10:54 p.m. the first male was seen walking back in front of the camera. However, this time, Jaquille Thomas was not following him. Detectives are asking the general public for information about the identity of the first male in the video. Update #1: The victims have been identified as Jaquille Thomas, (18yo) and Angelique Bowman, (19yo) both from Stone Mountain. Neither victim lived in the subdivision. Detectives are investigating the relationship between both parties and why they were in the subdivision.
(Norcross, Georgia) Gwinnett County Police are actively investigating a double homicide on the 6000 block of Wandering Way. Police responded to a person dead call shortly after 9AM this morning. The call was made by surveyors who were working in the area. They found a deceased black male suffering from gunshot wounds lying between two homes. As police processed that location, a second call was made at 11AM regarding a theft at the subdivision clubhouse. As police investigated the theft, they discovered a deceased black female suffering from gunshot wounds in an SUV.
The first scene is approximately 200 yards from the second scene. At this point, detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and working to identify the decedents. A relationship between the two decedents has not been established. As a result, it is unknown if there are any ties between the two decedents and the subdivision where they were located.
