(Norcross, Ga., Sep. 5, 2023) – The Gwinnett County Police Department needs the public’s help locating a missing 29-year-old female.

On August 27, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the family of Kanii’ya Smith called police to report Ms. Smith as missing. The family explained they last saw Ms. Smith on August 15, leaving her residence on Sweet Pine Dr in unincorporated Norcross to visit a friend. Her family explained to police that Ms. Smith has left in the past but usually returned several days later. Her family received a text message from Ms. Smith on August 19 but have not communicated with her since then. Ms. Smith is described as a black female with black hair and brown eyes. Ms. Smith is about five foot six inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black and white stripe shirt with black pants.    

If anyone sees Ms. Smith, we encourage them to call 911.
