NORCROSS APARTMENT FIRE DESTROYS SIX UNITS

Update #1: - On Monday morning, Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management and Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Norcross joined efforts with the Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services to serve the 40 occupants who have been displaced by the apartment fire. Due to a structural collapse during the fire, fire investigators were unable to access the area of origin. Fire investigators said the cause of the fire was undetermined.

(Norcross, Ga., Dec. 14, 2025) – Firefighters responded at 10:03 p.m. to multiple 911 callers reporting an apartment fire at the Las Palmas at 2113 Seasons Parkway in Norcross. The 911 caller advised that there was a fire in the building and that everyone was out of the apartments.

Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire involvement at a multi-family, three-story apartment building. While investigating, firefighters encountered heavy fire on the rear of the building deploying five hose lines and two arial apparatus to extinguish the flames. The fire was under control at 10:31 p.m. The apartment building sustained heavy fire and water damage to the structure, affecting 6 apartment units, resulting in four units a total loss and two with heavy fire damage—no fire extension to the adjacent apartment buildings. Fire crews remained on the scene for an extended time, extinguishing hot spots and ensuring the fire was fully extinguished. Medical crews on the scene were utilized for firefighter rehabilitation. No injuries were found on the scene.

One of the occupants in the home at the time of the incident stated they heard a “pop”, went to investigate when they saw the fire, and evacuated the building. Smoke alarms were not active in the fire units at the time of the incident. The fire displaced thirty occupants who will be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross and apartment management.

Fire Investigators responded to the scene for cause and fire determination. The Fire Investigator on the scene found the origin to be on the second-story, rear of the building; the fire is undetermined.
