COUNTY LIGHTS GWINNETT JUSTICE & ADMINISTRATION CENTER IN SUPPORT OF VETERANS FOR ‘OPERATION GREEN LIGHT’
(Lawrenceville, Ga., Nov. 3, 2025) – From Nov. 4 to 11, the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center will once again be illuminated green as part of the annual Operation Green Light for Veterans — a national initiative to show support for those who served.
“Participating in Operation Green Light is one way we let our veterans know that we see them,” said Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson. “In addition to offering thoughtful, beneficial services and resources to veterans and their families, our hope is that this gesture shows these brave service members that we support them and honor the sacrifices they've made to protect our country.”
Gwinnett residents, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to join the County’s celebration of Operation Green Light by illuminating their own homes and buildings from Nov. 4 to 11. It’s as simple as changing one light to a green bulb to show veterans gratitude for their courage.
Gwinnett County’s weeklong celebration of veterans will kick off with a proclamation presentation at 2 p.m. on Nov. 4 and culminate in three free events on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The first is Gwinnett County’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon, located at the Fallen Heroes Memorial at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
The ceremony will be immediately followed by Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson’s Gwinnett County Stand Down from noon to 2 p.m. at the same location, providing resources and services to veterans and their families. Registration for the Stand Down event is encouraged at GwinnettCounty.com/VeteransStandDown but not required.
The final event is the 20th anniversary celebration for the Gwinnett Veterans Memorial Museum from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, located at 185 Crogan St. in Lawrenceville. The free event is for adults 21 and up, and registration is required.
Now in its fifth year, Operation Green Light is a nationwide effort, led by the National Association of Counties, that unites counties in support of military veterans. The initiative raises awareness around the unique challenges faced by many veterans and the resources available at all levels of government to assist veterans and their families.
