Update:

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Oct. 10, 2025) – The victim has been identified as Rachel Free (39, Lawrenceville).  The suspect is identified as Embrey Watson (51, Lawrenceville).  The initial investigation suggests Watson shot Free while she was asleep then turned the gun on himself.  The investigation is still active pending autopsy results from the Medical Examiner’s Office.

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Oct. 8, 2025) – Gwinnett County Police detectives are investigating a domestic shooting that left one man deceased and one woman deceased. 

Around 9:41am officers from the Central Precinct responded to a person shot call in the 600 block of Clearwater Place in Lawrenceville.  When officers arrived, they located a female and a male deceased in a bedroom.  Officers clearing the home believed the two were deceased from a gunshot wound.  A firearm was also located at the scene. 

The incident is believed to be domestic and the two inside the home knew each other, though their exact relationship is being investigated at this time.  Homicide detectives are questioning witnesses and Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene for evidence.  The medical examiner is responding to the scene and will make the final determination on the cause of death.  Detectives are not currently looking for any outstanding suspects.  The victim’s name will be released following next-of-kin notification.
