GWINNETT COUNTY POLICE ARREST MAN FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT IN GAS STATION ALTERCATION

Gwinnett County Police arrest a man for aggravated assault after a gas station incident.

On January 29, officers from our Central Precinct responded to a reported shooting at 2090 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in unincorporated Suwanee. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim with a head wound. The victim initially stated that an unknown male had shot him. Emergency personnel transported the victim to a local area hospital. Following an investigation, detectives were able to collect video evidence and determined that the victim was not shot but rather struck with the firearm, causing it to discharge. The incident happened after the two men “shoulder-checked” each other inside the gas station.

Using various investigative methods, detectives identified the suspect as Isaac Hernandez (age 30, Gainesville). With the assistance of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Hernandez was taken into custody at a known location in Gainesville without incident. Hernandez is currently booked into the Gwinnett County Jail and charged with aggravated assault, battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
