UPDATE #2: Shooting Investigation 600 Satellite Blvd.
UPDATE #2:
The victim has been identified as James Ross (age 38, Loganville) and the suspect has been identified as Joshua Brandt (age 18, Gainesville). The Gwinnett County Police Department, along with assistance from the Suwanee Police Department, developed information pertaining to the suspect’s identity.
In the course of their investigation, Homicide detectives obtained probable cause for the issuance of Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault warrants on Brandt. Around 10:00 AM, Brandt was taken into custody without incident.
UPDATE #1:
At this time, the one gunshot victim has died from their injuries. The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time pending notification to next of kin. While one other person inside the business at the time was transported to the hospital with a minor, non-gunshot injury, no other people inside the business were fired upon. At this time, the sole deceased victim appears to have been the focus of the shooting.
(Suwanee, GA) On Friday, August 7, around 2:30 PM Gwinnett County Police received multiple reports regarding an active shooter situation at a business in the area of 600 Satellite Blvd. Upon the arrival of police, one gunshot victim was located, although the business was occupied by multiple employees at the time of the shooting. The victim’s medical status is unknown at this time.
According to eyewitnesses, the shooter appears to be a tall, thin male of unknown race, covered completely in a long, white garment with a white head and face covering. The suspect fled prior to police arrival and is still at large.
