(Lawrenceville, Ga., July 11, 2025) – Media partners, please see the below statement from Chairwoman Hendrickson regarding recent disruptions to senior transportation services following the Georgia Department of Human Services' contractor changes.

“Gwinnett County has been made aware that the Georgia Department of Human Services’ primary transportation contractor is no longer providing services, resulting in temporary disruptions for some of our senior residents.

“While DHS works to identify and secure new providers, other vendors continue to operate and help meet community needs.

“Our Health and Human Services team is actively prioritizing essential medical trips and working one-on-one with clients to coordinate alternate options.
