SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN OCTOBER 21 HOMICIDE

UPDATE #1: (Norcross, Ga., Dec. 8, 2023) – Detectives have charged two suspects in the homicide on October 21 on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

The victim has been identified as Edward Thompson (age 20, Peachtree Corners).

On October 24, Styles Gann (age 19, Conyers) was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. He was charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Felonies, Reckless Conduct, and Unauthorized Discharge of a Firearm within 50 Yards of a Public Highway.

On December 7, Kevin Pacheco (age 20, Atlanta) was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. He was charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Felonies, Reckless Conduct, and Unauthorized Discharge of a Firearm within 50 Yards of a Public Highway.

At this time, detectives believe that the shooting occurred after an altercation between the suspects and the victim.

 

 

ORIGINAL: (Norcross, Ga., Oct. 21, 2023) – In the early hours this morning of October 21, Gwinnett Police Department officers responded to Northside Hospital off Johnson Ferry Road to a report of a male with a gunshot wound brought in by friends. Shortly after, officers were notified that the man had died.

At this time, very little is known about what happened. Detectives believe the incident occurred at a business located in the 4800 block of Jimmy Carter Blvd.

Homicide Unit detectives and the Crime Scene Investigations Unit have responded to the scene. Detectives will be canvassing the area and collecting information. The deceased is a 20-year-old male from Norcross. His identity is being withheld until notification can be made to next of kin.
