Couple Steals Wallet from Woman Dining at Restaurant

(Buford, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department needs the public’s help in identifying the suspects responsible for a recent theft. On Tuesday, January 22, a man and woman were dining at the La Madeleine restaurant at 1795 Mall of Georgia Boulevard in unincorporated Buford.  The woman placed her purse on the floor next to her seat.

Another couple sat near them.  The man was seated directly behind the victim with his torso turned towards her.  The woman was overheard saying, “She saw you.  She saw you.”  The waitress noticed the suspicious behavior of the suspects and notified her supervisor.  By the time they went back to confront the suspects, they left the restaurant.

The victim then noticed that her wallet was missing from inside her purse.

The supervisor went outside and retrieved the license plate and vehicle description that the suspects were in.  The license plate was registered to a man who no longer owned the vehicle.  It was listed as a junk vehicle several years prior and not approved for roadway use.
