Director : Angelia Parham

Angelia Parham joined Gwinnett County as department director of Support Services in May 2013. She brings with her more than 25 years of public and private sector experience that includes work with two Fortune 500 companies, CH2M Hill and Exxon, and the City of Roswell. Her employment with CH2M Hill included work for the city of Sandy Springs and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. As public works director for Sandy Springs, she set up and managed the public works structure for the newly incorporated city. Later, she served as assistant project director for a condition assessment project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. She also previously served as deputy director and interim director for the city of Roswell’s transportation department. Prior to that, she conducted research at the Texas Transportation Institute and has authored and coauthored numerous publications.

Angelia holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee. She is a professional engineer and was named 2008 Public Works Director of the Year by American City and County Magazine. She was a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Operational Effects of Geometrics Committee for nine years.  Angelia and her husband, John, have four children.
