Research and Development Corridor Sector Plan

Research & Development Corridor Sector Plan Study Area The Research and Development (R&D) Corridor Sector Plan focuses on the area along University Parkway (GA Hwy 316) between Sugarloaf Parkway and US Highway 29 to the east and west of City of Lawrenceville.

The 2030 Unified Plan envisions this area continuing to grow as a Gwinnett-based high tech-biotech business complex area. The purpose of the small area study is to further develop those ideas into a conceptual plan with implementation program and recommended zoning. Any new development regulations would be incorporated into the UDO.

The R&D Corridor Sector Plan has three phases:

Phase 1: Coordination and Inventory – an assessment of baseline conditions, including a review of existing policies, land use conditions, urban design features, the multi-modal transportation system, and real estate market conditions

Phase 2: Analysis of Development Options – to occur through discussions with corridor property owners, and activities at the Research & Development Corridor Workshop

Phase 3: Strategic Framework and UDO Recommendations – based on findings of the first two phases.
