Fire Prevention and Protection Ordinance
The Gwinnett County Fire Plan Review Section uses the following codes: 2012 Gwinnett County Fire Prevention and Protection Ordinance, the current edition of the NFPA Codes and Standards as adopted and modified by the State Fire Marshal, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code 2000 Edition, International Fire Code 2006 Edition, OCGA Titles 25 and 30 Georgia Accessibility Code.

Fire Alarm System Permitting Requirements
The Gwinnett County Fire Plan Review Section uses the NFPA Life Safety Code 101 2000 Edition, and the National Fire Alarm Code NFPA 72 2002 Edition. Please complete the Fire Alarm Check List Form (PDF) and submit it along with your fire alarm plans. For Fire Alarm questions, please contact the Fire Alarm Specialist at 678.518.6137 or email shawn.gaunt@gwinnettcounty.com.

Fire Sprinkler Systems And Rack Storage Permitting Requirements
Please complete the Automatic Fire Sprinkler System Worksheet and submit the form with your sprinkler system plans. For sprinkler system or rack storage questions, please contact Steve Collins at 678.518.6103 or email steve.collins@gwinnettcounty.com.

Commercial Kitchen Hood Requirements
Any commercial establishment that produces grease-laden vapors or smoke requires a kitchen ventilation system. A permit shall be obtained from the Gwinnett County Fire Plan Review Section before the installation of a system. This permit will be issued to an appropriate licensed contractor.
