Inspection Request Change

In our continued efforts to enhance customer service, the Department of Planning and Development is proposing a change to the daily deadline for inspection requests. Effective August 15, 2011, the deadline for requesting an inspection will be 2:00pm. This change will align building inspection and fire inspection services and will offer a better opportunity for pre planning for both our customers and the inspector. The Gwinnett County Department of Planning and Development is pleased to provide citizens, businesses, and visitors access to our new online application services that includes searching for existing department cases and permits, requesting building, development and fire inspections, submiting subcontractor affidavits, submitting plans for review, and reporting code enforcement issues 24 hours a day, seven days a week with a minimum of down time for site maintenance. If you have any questions concerning these services please call 678.518.6000 or e-mail pnd@gwinnettcounty.com. The following services are now available: - Search for existing Building, Development, Fire or Planning permits or cases
- Request a Building, Development or Fire Inspection
- Renew a Building Permit (requires login)
- Submit a Subcontractor Affidavit or registration for a Licensed Professional (requires login)
- Report any Code Enforcement, Fire Marshall or Planning and Development code violation

Interactive Voice Response Inspection Request System (IVR)

Building, Development and Fire Inspections can also be requested over the phone. The Gwinnett County Interactive Voice Response Inspection Request System (IVR) is available 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Please call 678.518.6277 to schedule an inspection. After requesting your inspection through the automated system you may establish a set time range for the inspection. Please contact the Building or Development Inspectors directly at 678.518.6050 between 7:00am – 7:30am or the Fire Inspectors at 678.518.4980 between 7:00am – 7:30am. Open Records Request

The Open Records Request Form may be used to request access to documents maintained by the department to inspect or obtain copies under the Georgia Open Records Act. This form is not required to request routinely available records such as agendas, minutes, plats, ordinances, and resolutions. Although Open Records Requests are not required to be submitted in writing, use of this form will aid considerably in ensuring that each request is fulfilled as accurately as possible.
