Get Fit And Walk Across The State Of Georgia

Story Link: https://www.gwinnettcounty.com/web/gwinnett/home/stories/viewstory/-/story/WalkGeorgia

Walk across the state of Georgia—virtually—by signing up for The University of Georgia/Gwinnett Cooperative Extension Walk Georgia program. A 12-week program beginning February 2, Walk Georgia helps you increase your physical activity and develop the get-moving habit.

Sign up February 1 through April 15 and log on to www.walkgeorgia.org to report everything that gets you moving—from a walk around the block to gardening or playing a game of pick-up basketball. Logging all your activities adds up the miles, allowing you to “unlock” Georgia counties and take an online tour through our great state. April 26 is the last day for logging your miles.

The program is completely free and you may register as an individual or a four-person team. Either way, you’ll have fun as you get fit! Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners that submit the most miles: $200 for first place, $150 for second place, and $100 for third place. Go to www.walkgeorgia.org to enroll.
