Entering Auto Series, Unincorporated Duluth

(Duluth, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department General Crimes Unit needs the public’s help in identifying the suspects responsible for at least 11 Entering Autos on Monday, March 12.  The crimes occurred on Gwinnett Place Drive, Day Drive, and Breckinridge Boulevard all at local restaurants in the evening hours.

Once these cases were assigned to a detective, he obtained surveillance images of a suspect and the vehicle he was riding in.  The suspect’s vehicle is likely a newer model black Kia Optima with a paper registration plate on the back.  The suspect is a black male wearing a black hoodie, brown pants, and black shoes.  During the thefts, the suspect would exit the rear driver’s side door and break into the victim’s cars by smashing a window.  There is no available description of the driver or any other persons inside the vehicle.

Among the items stolen include computers, backpacks, clothing, financial documents, and other electronics.

One of the most common factors in these thefts is that the stolen items were left in plain sight. We encourage all drivers to conceal any item of value in their trunks before they arrive at their intended destination.  Simply leaving items in a backpack or gym bag on a car seat could invite criminal activity.

If anyone has any information to share in this case, please contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.  To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.  Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.  Case Numbers:  18-023445, 18-023444, 18-023451, 18-023454, 18-023461, 18-023471, 18-023464, 18-023465, 18-023466, 18-023467, 18-023468
