UPDATE #2: Exploitated Special Needs Man Found Safe

Update #2, 03/25/2019: Lee Earnest Longmire (20) has been found safe. On Friday, March 22, police officers located Lee.  Because of the ongoing investigation, the location of where he was found cannot be disclosed.  Lee appeared to be in good health.

Lee is currently staying with family members.  At this time, he does not want to be placed in alternate care.

The investigation into the exploitation will continue.  His mother, Yvonne Longmire, is still incarcerated at the Gwinnett County Jail.

Update #1, 03/05/19: Yvonne Longmire surrendered herself to the Gwinnett County Detention Center on Friday, March 1 at approximately 4:00pm.  She was booked into the Detention Center and is still being held there with no bond.  The exact whereabouts or condition of Lee Longmire is still unknown.  Yvonne and her attorney, Robert Brooks, claim that Lee is “okay,” however, they still have not revealed to us where Lee is or turned him over to DFACS custody as ordered by the State.  Lee has been declared a ward of the State and his Guardian with DFACS has yet to see or care for Lee.

If anyone has information on the exact whereabouts of Lee Earnest Longmire they are encouraged to call GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.  To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.stopcrimeATL.com

Original, 02/27/19: (Lawrenceville, Georgia)  Gwinnett Police need the public’s help in locating a missing disabled person and his mother who now has warrants for her arrest.  In late January the lead detective in this case spoke to a law firm acting as a conservator for a trust fund for Lee Earnest Longmire (20) of Lawrenceville.  It was discovered that in December 2018, Lee’s mother, Yvonne Longmire (58) of Lawrenceville, fraudulently presented Maurice Ford (23) of Atlanta as her son Lee to a Probate Court and a physician.  They convinced the Probate Court and the physician that Lee no longer had as severe a case of mental disability and no longer needed a conservator over his trust fund.  Maurice pretended to be Lee and presented false testimony and fraudulently obtained documents to support their scam.  The false testimony relinquished $200,000 to Yvonne and Maurice, however, before the money could be withdrawn, the former conservator attorney and his paralegal became suspicious of Lee’s identity.  They realized that no one had physically seen Lee in several years.  An investigation was launched and ultimately Lee became a ward of the State and was provided a guardian through the Division of Family and Children Services.  Several attempts have been made to have in person contact with Lee but they have been to no avail.

Warrants for the arrest of Yvonne Longmire and Maurice Ford were obtained.  Maurice was recently arrested in Phoenix, Arizona and is currently awaiting extradition.  The exact whereabouts of Yvonne are unknown.  She is currently charged with perjury, forgery, identity theft, theft by deception, criminal solicitation, and exploitation of an at-risk adult.  She is believed to be driving a green 2006 Ford F-150 bearing Georgia Tag “PRE 3129.”  The whereabouts of Lee Earnest Longmire are also unknown.

If anyone has any information to share in this case, please contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.  To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.stopcrimeATL.com.  Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.  Case Number:  19-007893, 19-016167
