UPDATE: Homicide- 2250 Pelican Drive, Norcross, - VICTIM & SUSPECT IDENTIFIED

Update #1, 8/11/18: The homicide victim has been identified as Claudine Hargrove (age 38, Norcross).  The next-of-kin has been notified.

Homicide detectives have charged Joseph Jackson (age 37, Norcross) with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.  Jackson is in the custody of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives believe the victim died during a domestic incident inside of the hotel room.  The case remains under investigation.

 

Original, 8/11/18: (Norcross, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department is currently investigating a homicide at the Norcross Extended Stay at 2250 Pelican Drive, Norcross.  At approximately 12:30 am, a security guard with the hotel contacted the police to report a body that was discovered in room 313.  When officers arrived, they found a black female deceased in room 313.  The victim appeared to have injuries consistent with being stabbed.

The Homicide Unit responded to the scene to lead the investigation.  The Crime Scene Unit also responded to process the crime scene.

There is no suspect information available at this time.  Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses.

The victim has not been positively identified at this time.  There is no further victim information being released.
