Movie Equipment Stolen, Suspect Sought

(Lawrenceville, Georgia)  GCPD detectives are investigating the theft of several trailers from businesses on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. between January 11, 2019 and January 14, 2019.  Three of the trailers contained robotic camera cranes and other equipment used in movie production.  Security video showed the trailers being removed by two vehicles, a dark color pickup truck and a white pickup truck.  The dark color truck and one of the stolen trailers were recovered by the Atlanta Police Department and one suspect was apprehended.  The suspect, Dewayne Antwain Williams (B/M, 49 years old), has been transferred to the Gwinnett County Detention Center and remains in custody without bail at the time of this press release.

The white pickup truck and two of the trailers have not been recovered.  None of the contents of any of the trailers have been recovered.  The driver of the second vehicle has not been identified.  Among the still missing items are a green boom lift, which was on a trailer, two robotic camera cranes, and a custom electric car used for mounting cameras and shooting film.

Security video of the suspect vehicles and the initial reports are available here.
