SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS: PUBLIC COMMENT INVITED BY ACCREDITATION ASSESSMENT TEAM

(Lawrenceville, Ga., April 22, 2024) – The Gwinnett County Police Department has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) since 1993. In 2021, CALEA awarded the department with the Communications Accreditation and Training Academy Accreditation awards. By earning these two additional accreditations, the Gwinnett County Police Department achieved the prestigious Tri-Arc Award from CALEA, becoming the first law enforcement agency in Georgia to receive this recognition. The Tri-Arc Award is given to agencies that have concurrent CALEA accreditation for their law enforcement, public safety communications, and public safety training agencies.

CALEA's aim is to enhance the quality of public safety services by maintaining a set of professional standards that uphold the management of accreditation programs. The success of CALEA accreditation depends on the leadership of the agency, the personnel within the agency, and the community. We have earned and upheld these prestigious certifications by providing professional, ethical, and compassionate service.

Maintaining certifications involves various elements, such as having a public portal for feedback on the agency's compliance with CALEA accreditation standards, community engagement, delivery of public services and overall eligibility for accredited status.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is committed to serving the community through the delivery of professional law enforcement services in an unbiased and compassionate manner in order to protect the lives and property of the citizens and improve the quality of life in our community.

We value all input. If you have any commendations or concerns about any of the CALEA programs (Law Enforcement, Communications, and/or Training), please visit Accreditation Public Comments. We look forward to hearing from you.
