Update #2: On May 4^th, homicide detectives obtained warrants for Stefan Weidenbener for the murder of Shane Meyerhoffer.  Weidenbener has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Sale of Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.  Detectives have been working on this case since April 6^th and now believe that the motive for this murder was drug related.  Weidenbener was already in the Gwinnett County Jail for unrelated charges and was served with the new warrants after they were signed by a judge.

Update #1: The victim in this homicide has been identified as Shane Meyerhoffer (27 year old male from Hayes, North Carolina).  Investigators are still actively trying to identify a motive and possible suspects.  There is no other information at this time.

Original, (Norcross, Georgia)  After receiving a 911 phone call about gunshots, officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department responded to the intersection of Pirkle Road and Gooodwood Blvd and located a male deceased near the roadway.

Shortly before 5:00 PM, officers from the Gwinnett County Police West Precinct responded to several “shots fired” calls near the intersection. Once officers arrived they found a white male in his twenties deceased from what appears to be at least one gunshot wound.

There are currently no motives related to the homicide, however, detectives are diligently working to identify the male and what may have led to the shooting. The Crime Scene Unit is on scene to aid in the investigation.
